Best Value Code of Practice guidance

(30/07/03) UNISON's campaign to end the two-tier workforce has received a major boost with the government announcing new measures to be included in a Best Value Code of Practice covering local authorities in England. From 13 March 2003, the Best Value Code of Practice must be written into all new and retendered contracts between local authorities and private, community or voluntary contractors in England.
