UNISON is the UK’s largest union, serving more than 1.3 million members. We represent full-time and part-time staff who provide public services, although they may be employed in both the public and private sectors.
What we do
UNISON represents and acts for members working in a range of public services and utilities. We represent members, negotiate and bargain on their behalf, campaign for better working conditions and pay and for public services.
How we work
With more than 1.3 million members, UNISON is one of the UK’s largest trade unions and Europe’s largest public service union. Our members work in the public services, for private contractors providing public services and for utility companies.
Governance
Our governance is overseen by an elected national executive council of ordinary members of the union and the union is answerable to all our members.
Jobs
UNISON employs 1,200 staff throughout the UK. Most work in our regional offices to support branches and local reps while many branches also employ staff locally to support their work.
