UNISON’s organisation is designed so that all members can be heard and involved. We try to make this as simple and as democratic as possible.
Branches
Branches are the bedrock of the union: without them there would be no union to support members at work and negotiate for a better deal.
Regions
UNISON is divided into 12 regions across the UK. The region is the main link between neighbouring branches and between branches and UNISON’s national executive council.
Service groups
Nationally UNISON is organised into service groups, which are made up of all the members working in the same sector.
Member groups
Our equality work includes groups for members who experience particular types of prejudice and discrimination.
National executive council
The union’s national executive council (NEC) is elected by members to speak on their behalf.
