What is a branch pensions champion?

A branch pensions champion is a key member of the branch campaign team. Their job is to make sure that the latest union briefings, news and information are made available to UNISON members and that any questions they have can be answered.

Another job is to help establish a network of UNISON workplace pension contacts and make sure that campaigning work includes the recruitment of non-members.

Pensions champions are also there to help members understand their own pension schemes and how the government plans will affect them.

Help for champions

UNISON branch pensions champions benefit from training, support and guidance from the union. We send briefings and advice direct to our champions and help them network with other champions across the country.
