Get help

UNISON helps its members resolve problems or issues related to work and home. Whether you are being bullied, want to find out more about your rights to flexible working or need help with your finances, UNISON can offer you confidential advice.

Getting help

UNISON can help you in many ways, both at work and at home. If you are not sure who you should contact for help, or where to find the information that you need, this section of the website will help you find it.

Discrimination at work can be a serious issue: on the grounds of race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or religion and belief. It may also involve bullying and harassment. UNISON campaigns and supports members to make sure everyone is treated fairly and equally at work.

Employment rights

Nearly all workers, regardless of the number of hours per week they work, have certain legal rights, particularly around leave. This section has information about many areas of leave, flexible working and time off for dependents.

Issues at home

UNISON provides a number of free services to help members and their families deal with problems beyond the workplace. These services aim to resolve or ease issues outside of the workplace, including listening and legal services, financial advice, grants and respite holidays.

Issues at work

UNISON will advise you and help protect your rights if you face an issue at work which could threaten your job status, health and wellbeing or working environment.
