UNISON launches social work survey

UNISON has teamed up with Community Care – the leading website for people working in social care - to mark World Social Work Day today by launching a survey that will shine a light on a typical working day in social work.

On 29 April, we will be asking members to fill in a survey telling us about that day.

How many hours did you work? What kind of work did you do? How did your work make a difference to the lives of service users and what impact did the day have on your own mental well-being?

We will then bring the findings to the public and policy makers to promote better understanding of social work and to push for change.

The union wants to highlight the challenges and pressures social work staff face every day, and to celebrate the value and importance of the work that social work staff do.

So, if you’re a social worker or a social work assistant, put 29 April in your diary now, and if you represent social work staff, then please let your members know what’s happening.

To register to receive a reminder about the survey on 29 April, please log your email address here, at the Community Care website. As an added incentive, those who complete the survey on or soon after 29 April will, be entered into a draw for an iPad mini.
