Tell Europe what you think about TTIP

UNISON activists can now tell the European Commission why they don’t want the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and its Investor State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) mechanism.

Friends of the Earth and the trade union movement have jointly created a quick and easy online tool to register opposition to TTIP and ISDS. Tell the European Commission why you don’t want TTIP

Last week the UNISON National Delegate conference (NDC) voted to reject, and campaign against, TTIP.

If it were to go ahead, TTIP could both undermine existing regulatory standards, including well established health and safety laws which have been responsible for saving thousands of lives, and prevent governments from bringing back into public ownership privatised public services.

UNISON head of health and safety Tracey Harding said: “We call on all UNISON safety reps to join in this campaign and stop an agreement that could threaten health and safety laws which trade unionists fought for, for over a century.”
