Unions reluctantly accept PTE pay offer

UNISON and other unions on the trade union side of the Passenger Transport Forum involved in the 2014 pay negotiations have accepted the employers’ 1% pay offer, following consultation with members.

UNISON national officer Alan Jackson commented: “Though no one was by any means happy with the offer, it was agreed that – in the circumstances – the only avenue available was to accept.

“This was with the condition that, should the settlement in local government be in excess of 1%, the trade union side would expect this to be reflected in the passenger transport executives.”

The award covers workers at Transport for Greater Manchester, CENTRO and West Yorkshire PTE.

The rise means that, from 1 April this year, the pay scales at the three PTEs will be:
