Marking International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia

Today is international day against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia.  UNISON marks the day with renewed commitment to working for LGBT equality.

On 15 May, ILGA launched its annual State-Sponsored Homophobia Report.

And the day after, ILGA-Europe launched its annual Rainbow Europe Map reflecting 49 European countries legislation and policies affecting LGBTI people plus its annual LGBTI human rights review.

Today at 1pm, the EU Fundamental Rights Agency publishes the results of the LGBT discrimination survey that many UNISON members responded to last year. Click here for more information.

Also today, Transgender Europe are publishing their first Trans Rights Europe Map.

Both the UN Secretary General and the UN High Commissioner for human rights express their support for the day in a powerful and moving video called The Riddle.
