UNISON condemns homophobic attack against trade unionist in Barnet

UNISON has condemned a recent attack against a trade unionist whose car was found vandalised with homophobic slurs outside his home

The matter has been raised with the police and the union will be working with the authorities to do all it can to prevent future attacks on its members and activists.

UNISON president Wendy Nichols said: “We condemn this despicable attack against our activist. UNISON works tirelessly against hate crimes and this attack will neither intimidate nor silence us in our fight.”

The union will not comment further during the ongoing police investigation.
