Stirling Council members to consider new proposals for pay and conditions

UNISON is to consult its Stirling Council members over new proposals in the long-running dispute over pay and conditions.

There will be a continued suspension of industrial action while the consultation takes place. A planned march and rally for Saturday 16 November has been called off.

The decision follows a series of ‘productive’ meetings between UNISON and Stirling Council management, the union said.

UNISON branch secretary Lorraine Thomson commented: “The intensive talks have allowed for both sides to articulate their position, consider each other’s points and arrive at a revised set of proposals that will hopefully be acceptable to our members.

“If the new proposals are accepted by the members it will allow both sides to concentrate on the continued delivery of quality public services to the people served by Stirling Council.”

The detail of the proposals will be released in due course.
