UNISON recruitment continues apace

UNISON’s autumn recruitment campaign is continuing to grow.

After a record-breaking week which saw 4,468 people join the union in the week beginning 23 September, the following week was even better. In the week following 30 September, 4,567 joined – a new record for the past two years.

UNISON’s TV adverts are running again on national and satellite TV, alongside adverts and advertorials in the Metro nationwide, and Google paid search online.

The ads started on 23 September and will run through until November.

Regions and branches are taking the campaign into workplaces across the UK, with a wave of activity in schools, including:.

  • Devon County branch is meeting school support staff at Barley Lane school in Exeter today at 3.30pm;
  • Eastern region held an open meeting at Basildon Academy last Wednesday to encourage non teaching staff to join up.

But it’s not just in education that UNISON members and activists are getting out and spreading the word about the essential cover that the union can provide.

From health care workers in Plymouth and Peterborough to homecare workers in Newcastle and Nottingham, new members are swelling the ranks of UNISON.
