It is police staff who make the police tick. UNISON's 40,000 members work in everything from admin and front desk roles to forensics and photography. Our members work in every police force in the UK, except Northern Ireland and the Met.
This circular asks branches to notify their Regional Organiser if forces attempt to negotiate changes to Police Staff Council pay and conditions on the pretext of budget cuts or flexible working. It also advises branches on an opening strategy for dealing with such approaches. Branches are advised to not agree to any proposals until these have been cleared by Regional Organisers following referral to the National Office
