The UK is sleepwalking towards a disastrous no-deal Brexit, says UNISON

Politicians who genuinely want to reach a deal must come together

Commenting on today’s votes in Parliament (Thursday) UNISON general secretary Dave Prentis said:

“The UK is sleepwalking towards a disastrous no-deal Brexit.

“Unless MPs can get their act together quickly, the country will fall off a cliff and there’ll be no coming back.

“It’s time for those politicians who genuinely want to reach a deal to come together and defend jobs, wages, public services and peace in Northern Ireland.

“That has to include a customs union and a close relationship with the EU, not the no-deal Brexit favoured by the hardliners on the Tory backbenches.”
