Registrations for UNISON’s young members’ weekend close on Tuesday 5 April.
It takes place on 13-15 May in Leicester, and brings together more than 100 young members from across the UK to find out more about UNISON and, more importantly, how they can play a part in the union’s campaigning to defend public services.
It will take place against a background of a Conservative government hell-bent on demolishing public services, and continuing with failed policies for young people.
One focus of the weekend will be a practical campaigning activity, including approaching members of the public to get our case across.
It’s a great chance to meet, work, and socialise with other young members and learn some key skills.
Members wishing to attend must be under aged under 27 on 15 May, and should contact their branch secretary about the opportunity.
Alternatively, they can get in touch with their regional young members contact (see here for details), or by emailing their full name, branch name, and membership number to young.members@unison.co.uk.
Weekend costs – including accommodation, meals, travel, childcare and other appropriately incurred expenses – will be met by UNISON.
Please note that numbers are limited, and registering an interest does not guarantee you a place at the event.
