<p>On the 6 March 2013, there was a debate in Parliament about the problems faced by homecare workers in their jobs.<br /><br/>MPs articulated the problems that UNISON homecare members have been raising for years, and talked about UNISON’s own work in this area.<br /><br />The experiences of UNISON members were even directly quoted in the debate.<br /><br />The points made by MPs gave further support to UNISON’s Ethical Care Campaign to drastically improve how homecare services are delivered and how homecare workers are treated.</p>

Almost two million adults across the UK currently rely on social care services. Over the next 30 years, it is estimated that the number of people over 85 will increase by 180% and the number of people with dementia will double. A million more care workers will be needed by 2025 to meet the growing need.
