Labour will repeal Tory health act

Labour will repeal the Tory health act, Ed Miliband reaffirmed at its policy forum in Birmingham yesterday.

His promise was repeated by Andy Burnham, as part of a discussion on how to tackle the crisis in health social care. Delegates agreed that creating low-paid and low-status jobs, as is the case in some areas of health and social care at the moment, was not the way forward.

Mr Miliband went on to congratulate Birmingham city councillors for their recent election win, and praised them for introducing a living wage for all council workers employed by Birmingham.

The election was helped by a UNISON advertising campaign, urging electors to vote for public services.

He went on to speak out against the top earners that now earn a thousand times what their lowest waged employees earn while lower wages are frozen.
