Award for NHS Trust helping deprived teenagers become doctors

UNISON members at Newham University Hospital NHS Trust are celebrating scooping a Guardian Public Services Award for helping disadvantaged teenagers become doctors.

The Trust pioneered a scheme for students in the area who may have not achieved the required A-level grades to get in to medical school because they come from a socially deprived background.
