Social work task force – make the vision a reality.

UNISON, the union representing more than 40,000 social workers today (1 December), called for the wide-ranging recommendations of the social work task force to be turned into reality, as a matter of urgency.

The union welcomed measures to keep more social workers on the front-line, to improve supervision and to ease the pressure on managers. But change cannot be delivered on the cheap, and UNISON warned many councils are so stretched, they will struggle to embrace the reforms.
