UNISON today (18 July) called on energy companies to pull back from ramping
up the cost of gas and electricity once again to exorbitant levels. And it
disputes the claims from British Gas parent company Centrica that it has no
control over the price rises.
British Gas and other energy companies that own the means of producing gas
and oil themselves set the price for oil and gas. They then reap in
billions of pounds in profit.
