Cuts in further education funding damage Governments learning skills agenda

The funding crisis facing further education flies in the face of the government’s own learning and skills agenda, UNISON said today.

Further education colleges across the country face a cut of up to 700,000 adult learning places by 2007-08. On 21 October the Government announced that it wants college fees for adults to rise by at least 60% for those courses outside its own priority targets.
