A radical breakthrough in Agenda for Change proposals has been
brokered, following a period of intense discussions between
health unions and the Government. Agenda for Change will affect
1m staff working in the NHS across every occupation and is
designed tackle the inequalities and demarcations rife across the
whole of the NHS and to modernise what was an extremely
outdated and antiquated pay system.
From the start UNISON expressed grave concerns about
arrangements covering unsocial hours in particular. Speaking
about the new proposals, Paul Marks, UNISON Lead Negotiator
