UNISON TO MEET WITH LOCAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYERS TOMORROW OVER £4,000 LONDON WEIGHTING CLAIM

UNISON, the largest trade union in local government, will meet with the local government employers group representing 32 London Boroughs tomorrow (June 13) at 2pm to discuss the £4,000 London Weighting claim.

UNISON General Secretary Dave Prentis will join local government workers at a rally outside the offices of the Association of London Government, 59 1/2 Southwark Street, London SE1, from 1:30pm.

UNISONÕs local government workers in London are taking part in a two-day strike (June 12/13) in support of their claim for a rise in London Weighting to £4,000 Ð replacing the current rates which range from £1,407 in outer London to £2,674 in inner London.

UNISON is seeking to bring London Weighting for local government workers into line with the allowances paid to other public sector workers to compensate for the high cost of living in the capital.
