In 2002, at the Service Group Conference, Composite 1 was approved by Conference. This composite called for the Service Group Executive to merge the Annual Service Group Conference and Annual Seminar in a single 2/3 day event away from the National Delegate Conference.
In its annual report of 2003 the Service Group Executive stated that:
1)discussions have opened with UNISON’s Conference Office over the implications and logistics of the proposed merger event;
2)due to pressures of other work, it has not been possible to make as much progress on this issue as the Service Group would have liked.
Conference is dismayed over the actions taken by the Service Group Executive in achieving the goals of Composite 1 of the 2002 Service Group Conference.
This Conference instructs the Service Group Executive to achieve the goals set out in Composite 1 (2002) so that the Service Group Conference and the annual seminar will be held as a 2/3 day event in 2005.
