- Police Staff Conference 2004
- Date
- 1 March 2004
- Decision
- Carried as Amended
This Conference is concerned that the Home Office is continually eroding the forensic services provided by police staff as a cheaper option.
Conference recognises that this is not the case. UNISON believes that this is a core public service to which the principles of direct accountability apply. As such, this service must remain wholly publicly funded.
Conference is extremely concerned at the impact such outsourcing would have on our membership.
Conference instructs the Service Group Executive to:
1)continue to campaign vigorously on this issue;
2)continue to forge links and work with the PCS and Prospect Unions jointly;
3)attempt to secure political support via the APF.
