UK survey examines impact of COVID-19 on NHS staff retention

The COVID-19 pandemic has placed unprecedented pressure on NHS staff and resources. A new UK-wide online survey aims to look at the impact of the pandemic on NHS staff retention, including how this might vary between different groups of NHS employees.

The survey, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council and carried out by researchers from the Universities of Bath, Leicester, and Sheffield, is supported by NHS England, NHS Employers, UNISON, the Royal College of Nursing, the Royal College of Midwives and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists.

Participation will allow you to share your experience of working in the NHS during COVID-19. The main survey takes about 12 minutes to complete and there is also a 5 to 6-minute optional section on priorities for change, at the end.

The survey findings will provide insight into what might need to change to encourage staff to continue working for the NHS.

Your participation is voluntary, completely anonymous, and you are under no obligation to participate. You will not be asked to record your name or any other personal information that would allow you to be identified.
