In September we told you about the action plan that we had put together for branches to use with employers to ensure that placements are a positive and valuable experience for all healthcare students.
The action plan contains a ‘Best Practice Pledge’ that include a series of specific ‘asks’. Please note that the action plan is for branch and organiser use only, it was not designed as a resource to be given out to student members.
We have now produced a downloadable PDF of the pledge. Branches should use the pledge to start a conversation with employers about how to deliver best practice to support students and supervising staff during placements.
Student organisers should use the action plan and pledge as part of their recruitment work to show members and potential members that we are aware of the issues affecting students and are working hard to make things better.
Actions for branches
Use the action plan and pledge to start conversations with employers to deliver placements that are fit for purpose
Speak to students on placement so that they know who to contact if they have a problem or need support.
