Turkey has experienced a significant erosion of democracy, human and workers’ rights and the rule of law in recent years as President Erdogan has reinforced his authoritarian rule. Attacks on trade unions are common, resulting in Turkey being rated as one of the ten worst countries in the world for workers.

This session will hear how trade unions are playing a leading role in the struggle for workers’ and human rights, democracy, justice and peace in Turkey.
