Developing representational skills – disciplinary hearings

Gain an insight into how disciplinary hearings are conducted.

Details

The course will help you to:

  • gain an insight into how disciplinary hearings are conducted;
  • develop effective interviewing techniques;
  • help prepare thoroughly for a disciplinary interview;
  • analyse evidence and identify the strengths and weaknesses of a member’s case;
  • plan how to cross examine witnesses;
  • prepare and deliver a closing speech.

How the course will work

This is a video-based course structured around one extended case-study concerning a member who is called to disciplinary action for making excessive personal telephone calls.

Based on the same set of core facts from the member and management, the course looks at three different ways in which the member could defend her case at the disciplinary.
