- recognise the scope of protection against pregnancy discrimination;
- understand maternity rights;
- be familiar with rights to dependant leave;
- be familiar with rights to parental leave;
- understand the law in relation to flexible working;
- identify where there are gaps in the law which negotiated policies need to fill.
