Our Motions to National Delegate Conference (NDC)

The National Black Members’ Committee submitted two motions to NDC:

  • Motion 9 – National Executive Council & Rule Book Commitment to Fair Representation
  • Motion 118 – Immigration Advice and Black Members

Our Caucus Meetings

There will be two caucus meetings for Black members at NDC –

  • Tuesday 14 June, 5:15pm – Syndicate 1
  • Wednesday 15 June, 12:45pm – Syndicate 1

Our Fringe Meeting

Levelling Up? Tackling Racial Disparities

Date: Thursday 16 July 2022, 17:15pm -18:15pm

As the Government denies that institutional racism even exists, what should unions do to challenge racism in the workplace and beyond? What does it mean for Black workers and communities across the devolved nations? What does the Government’s whitepaper mean for Black workers and what actions can be taken forward to address this?

Speakers include David Lammy MP, (Shadow Foreign Secretary), Gloria Mills (UNISON National Secretary Equalities), Kudsia Batool (Head of Equalities and Strategy TUC), Alba Kapoor (Senior Policy Manager, Runnymede Trust), and Tim Roberts (UNISON Regional Secretary).
