UNISON relaunches school uniform scheme

UNISON is once more launching a scheme to help members on low incomes deal with the cost of school uniforms.

Families with children living on a low income struggle constantly to make ends meet – and this can be particularly acute before the new school year begins when those extra costs hit hard.

The union’s welfare charity There for You has once more set up a limited fund to help members on low incomes deal with the cost of school uniforms.

Branches can download application forms and publicity materials below.

The closing date for receipt of completed application forms is Friday 11 July 2014.

Our energy service group supports members facing issues at work and aims to improve pay and conditions. We also campaign on issues which affect the wider community such as fuel poverty, sustainable and renewable supply and environmental safeguards.

This section is about women’s equality. UNISON women work with all parts of the union to end discrimination and campaign for equality. We work for improvements to women’s rights in the workplace and in the wider community.

LGBT+ members equality

The LGBT+ members group works with all parts of the union to improve equality, fight discrimination and prejudice in the workplace and provide support for our members.

Young members equality

This section is about young members equality. UNISON young members group is for members who are under 27. Our young members group works with other parts of the union to encourage recruitment, organisation and participation of young workers. The group also provides a powerful voice for young members and the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge.
