Care for it? Vote for it

The campaigning is almost over and the general election is upon us.

The polling stations open at 7am tomorrow and we’ll all get the chance to actually vote after what seems like one of the longest election campaigns in living memory.

And I urge everyone to do just that – go out to cast your vote tomorrow, anytime between 7am and 10pm. And please use your vote for public services.

Because this isn’t just one of the longest seeming election campaigns I can recall in more than 30 years as an active trade unionist.

It’s also the most important. And on top of that, all the opinion polls tell us it’s one of the closest.

So every vote will count.

I ask everyone who reads this to have their say and use their vote. I will certainly use mine. Why not join me?

There are a lot of issues and choices facing us all on 7 May.

That’s why UNISON is saying: Care for it? Vote for it.
