Conference notes that analysis and scrutiny of grievances raised by Police Staff is not currently undertaken by the Service Group Executive (SGE). Conference believes that the SGE should have an overview of key issues raised by police staff through the grievance process to inform the national bargaining agenda.
The SGE should have access to data from all forces within England and Wales where UNISON is recognised. The scrutiny of the data will enable the identification of trends or issues that affect our members.
Conference calls on the SGE to:
1)Request information from branches;
2)Submit Freedom of Information (FOI’s) to each force requesting grievance data;
3)Provide a report to branches on the findings;
4)Consider the benefits of a single Police Staff Council grievance procedure.
