This Conference welcomes the work of Platform 51(the operating name of the YWCA England & Wales), and YWCA Scotland, to support girls and young women as they seek to achieve their potential.
This Conference believes that the possibility for joint work with these bodies deserves to be explored in order to identify joint campaigning opportunities to defend services for young women; and to help spread the message to young women about the positive value of trade unionism.
This conference calls on the National Women’s Committee to:
1) seek a meeting with Platform 51 to initiate a dialogue about the potential for joint working;
2) encourage the Scotland regional women’s committee to seek a meeting with YWCA Scotland to initiate a dialogue about the potential for joint working.
