Decision
Carried as Amended

Conference welcomes the change in UNISON National Executive Council (NEC) additional/explicitly named as seats to now be Black Members only seats.

Conference believes the UNISON NEC should be as fully representative as possible of the membership of UNISON. Conference welcomes the development of a UNISON wide Equality scheme which will require all parts of the union to carry out equality impact assessments of their work programmes to ensure they have no adverse impact on any group and include actions to actively promote equality on grounds of age, disability, gender, gender identity, race, religion/belief, sexual orientation and for low paid members.

Conference calls on the UNISON National Executive Council to undertake a review of the composition of the UNISON NEC in order to make the NEC as representative as possible of the membership of UNISON.

Conference further resolves that any such review of the composition of the UNISON NEC should be in consultation with all relevant bodies in the union, including self-organised groups.
