Conference will be aware of the rush to outsource many of the functions following the privatisation of the UK Water Industry in 1989.
The consequential effect of those outsourcings left our members with the loss of occupational pension final year salary schemes and a gradual loss of terms and conditions.
Conference notes that the trend has now changed and that many of the functions are now being insourced back to those companies that originally outsourced them.
Conference instructs the Service Group Executive to campaign at all levels to ensure that staff be allowed to rejoin the final year salary scheme of that company and ensure that if they are on detrimental terms and conditions branches are given the support to negotiate parity for the returning staff.
