This Conference agrees to the following amendments to the Pay Consultation Procedures agreed by the 2002 Local Government Service Group Conference:
8e – Regions – Add after first sentence – “Regions shall be encouraged to hold delegate meetings for branches covered by the pay offer, in order to debate the proposals and how to encourage membership participation in the consultation exercise. It will be for Regions to determine the arrangements for such meetings.”
New paragraph (1) …. If the consultation period on the pay offer includes the period in which the annual Local Government Service Group Conference is being held, this Conference will not be precluded from debating emergency motions on either the details of the offer or the consultation arrangements provided such emergency motions have been submitted in accordance with the Conference Standing Orders and have been approved as competent by the Conference Standing Orders Committee and Conference itself.
However, the final decision will be taken as a result of the pay consultation with all members.
