Conference is pleased to note that progress made by UNISON’s Blood Service Forum is implementing its union development plans for 2003/4 and 2004/5.
In particular, Conference welcomes the increase number of UNISON’s Blood Branches that have given an improved voice for union members when dealing with the employer and also within UNISON.
Conference notes that currently UNISON’s Blood Service Forum does not enjoy the status of a sector within UNISON and the representation that this provides at Service Group Executive and Conference.
Conference calls upon the Health Group Executive to review the status of UNISON’s Blood Service Membership within the union’s structure and rules and bring a report to the 2006 Health Conference on its findings and recommendations.
