Women need to take action for a healthier planet. It is now being recognised that there is evidence of a link between health and the environment. Women and children are the first to feel the effects of environmental degradation. Women must be empowered to take action about issues that affect and concern them.
Conference instructs the National Women’s Committee to:
1)encourage more women to be health and safety representatives specifically to identify and take up women’s issues in the workplace;
2)build up networks with other women to gain the confidence to raise awareness and develop campaigns on environmental issues that directly affect women’s health;
3)work with the Affiliated Political Fund to lobby Government to take up our concerns about the effect the environment is having on women’s health.
