Improvements in Communications

Back to all Motions

Conference
2002 Retired Members' Conference
Date
24 June 2002
Decision
Carried as Amended

This Conference believes that existing means of communications between UNISON at a national level and branch retired members’ groups are practically non-existent. Conference strongly urges the National Retired Members’ Committee to take urgent remedial action to improve this situation.

In particular, Conference requests that some form of regular publications such as the National Retired Members’ Newsletter be revived as part of an ongoing improvement in communications.

Conference notes that there was a £4.5 million surplus on UNISON’s national accounts for 2001 and suggests that the National Retired Members’ Committee put in a bid for additional money to cover the cost of communications improvements set out in this motion.
