- 2002 National Black Members' Conference
- 6 June 2002
Conference welcomes the organisation of a European Social Forum (ESF) in Italy in November 2002.
We believe the ESF will be a unique chance for anti-racist activists and trade unionists from across Europe to come together and discuss how to organise against free market policies and Bush and Blair’s war.
We support the Call of the Social Movements issued by the second World Social Forum in Porto Alegre, Brazil earlier this year.
We will send a message of support to the European Social Forum in Italy.
The three themes of the forum will be:
2)Against war and militarism;
3)For democracy and full citizenship to all, and against racism and fascism.
We should encourage our black members’ groups to participate in such initiatives locally and call on the national union to do the same.
