- Conference
- 2002 National Black Members' Conference
- Date
- 5 June 2002
- Decision
- Carried as Amended
Conference calls on the National Black Members’ Committee (NBMC) to work with the National Executive Council towards a workable strategy of the recognition of duties undertaken by self-organised group representatives. This is to enable representatives of all the self-organised groups to actively participate fully in their UNISON duties without fear of loss of pay or repercussions in accordance with the ACAS code of practice which affords time off legally for UNISON duties.
Conference therefore calls upon the National Executive Council to work with the NBMC to develop with the TUC, STUC, WTUC and ITUC a policy which includes self-organised groups activities as union duties in accordance with the ACAS code of practice to enable self-organised group representatives to have facility time by June 2003.
