The largest UK safety rep conference is back and it’s now time to book your place.
This year the National Hazards Conference is back at Keele University between 29 – 31 July.
The conference is the biggest safety rep conference in the UK. Last year 350 delegates attended, with almost 40% from UNISON. Each year UNISON safety activist delegates report just how much they gain from, and value, attending.
This year there are 15 workshops, plus other meetings and sessions to choose from. These are facilitated by hazards campaigners, health and safety experts, and experienced safety reps. You’ll learn how to deal with workplace hazards, and how to use health and safety to campaign and organise.
UNISON nationally sponsors the Conference and recommends it to UNISON safety activists. We contribute to the development of the programme, resource an exhibition stall, and facilitate workshops and meetings. We also hold a UNISON networking event on the Friday evening. This allows all the UNISON delegates to meet one another, staff from UNISON’s health and safety unit, and attending members of UNISON’s National Health and Safety Committee. You’ll also hear about some of the current health and safety issues, and be able to tell us about your experiences, and discuss how these can be tackled.

UNISON branches are also encouraged to help keep the individual delegate fees down by sponsoring the conference. Ask your branch to support the financial appeal.
