2019 UNISON National Further Education Seminar “Further Education Rising to the Challenge”

5 – 6 April 2019

Newcastle Jury’s Inn Scotswood Rd, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4AD

Hear inspiring speakers, discover different approaches and share practical solutions to facing the challenges and opportunities of working in the college sector.

And in truly “National” fashion – we are on our way to the wonderful city of Newcastle – https://www.newcastlegateshead.com/city-guides

With its twin city, Gateshead, Newcastle was a major shipbuilding and manufacturing hub during the industrial revolution and is now a centre of business, arts and sciences.  The Further Education and Sixth Form sector prepares 2.2 million people with valuable employability skills, helping to develop their career opportunities. Colleges train nearly half of all construction and engineering and manufacturing apprentices and there are 313,000 people on apprenticeship provision in colleges. They also provide high-quality academic education enabling people to progress to university or higher level vocational education.

2019 is also the “Year of the Young Member” and with this in mind, we would like to offer any members, aged 26 and under, a 26% discount on their seminar delegate rate!

The cost (including accommodation and registration) is £212 or £145 without accommodation.  If you would like to bring a partner please contact us at education@unison.co.uk to inquire about rates.
