UNISON’s national Youth and Community Workers’ Committee ran a branch consultation on the draft Joint National Committee (JNC) pay claim in May.
The committee considered the responses to the consultation and the comments made, and decided to accept the draft with some minor amendments. The final pay claim was submitted to the Employers’ Side in early June.
The Employers’ Side has responded to the unions to say that they will now undertake a consultation of local authorities, which will begin this week and is expected to take approximately one month. They have stated their intention to respond formally in mid-July.
