UNISON South East is currently recruiting a fixed term Regional Learning & Development Organiser (RLDO) which will be funded by the Union Learning Fund.   The RLDO will be based in UNISON’s South East Guildford office but the job will require travelling across the South East region and occasional attendance at UNISONs national office for briefings. The majority of work undertaken will be with County, Unitary and Acute Hospital based Branches in the West of the Region and on the South Coast.

The Union Learning Fund project is aimed at recruiting and training Union Learning reps to promote learning especially maths, English and digital skills to underrepresented groups.

Key objectives for the Regional Learning & Development Organiser will be to support branches and employers to establish and negotiate learning agreements, set up long term projects for supporting learners’ including apprentices and deliver training and workshops to members.

The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of lifelong learning and its relevance to the workplace and will have experience and an appreciation of the link between learning and union organising.

You will support the development and delivery of a range of ULF projects, networking events, learning workshops and programmes relevant to personal development, skills for life development and the Union Learn Funds priorities.

You will be well organised with the ability to work in a team and able to take lead responsibility for projects. Experience and knowledge of UNISON and an understanding of the Union Learning Fund is desirable.

Travel across the region with occasional overnight stays will be required.
