The temporary Assistant National Officer posts will be responsible to the Head of the Strategic Organising Unit for supporting and helping to coordinate the organising campaign to encourage member engagement and develop new activists. Working closely with regions, service groups, self organised groups, and LAOS; the aim will be to encourage a more proactive approach to encourage member engagement and activist development. Particular attention will be paid to the development of activists from amongst our young members and lower paid women workers.
The northern based post will work across the North of England, together with Scotland and Northern Ireland if required.
The primary purpose of the role is to encourage and coordinate regional activist development work. The post holders will need to work closely with regional colleagues and colleagues in LAOS ensuring that the organising campaign ties into learning support and mentoring for new activists. The work will include promoting the use of the Skills Bank as an aid to the development of new activists.
