Want to be a trustee of There for you?

Union’s welfare charity seeks applications from experienced UNISON activists to fill six elected positions on board of trustees

There for you, the working name of UNISON Welfare, is looking for members with a variety of experience, knowledge and skills – personal and/or professional –  to joint the board of trustees and fill six elected trustee positions.

Being a trustee is a challenging but highly rewarding role.  Trustees are responsible for directing the charity in line with our mission and ensuring the organisation is managed effectively.

Balance is also important in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation and disability.

Trustees act in a voluntary capacity. There is no remuneration, but out-of-pocket expenses are paid.

Trustees also benefit from induction training and continuous support. They will attend approximately six meetings a year.

Applications are welcome from full members who are actively involved in UNISON either as a branch welfare officer and/or member of a regional welfare committee.

Trustees serve for two years and can stand for re-election at the end of their term.

If you are interested and feel you could make a valued contribution, please phone 020 7121 5620 or email thereforyou@unison.co.uk for an application pack which contains all the information you need to consider the role.

The closing date for completed applications is 3 May 2016.
