Who should attend
Delegate conference for retired members' groups, with between two (for branches with 250 or fewer retired members) and four (for branches with 750 or more) delegates per branch.
Delegations must be in line with UNISON's principles of proportionality and fair representation. Download the conference bulletin [PDF]
Branches can also apply for visitor places, subject to availability, on a first come, first served basis. Visitors must be UNISON members, but do not have to be retired members. All visitor expenses, including travel, must be met by the branch or region.

Once delegates are selected, they need to be registered with the UNISON conference office using the online conference system.

For more than 30 years, the council-run Brighton Centre has been a favourite UK venue for exhibitions, conferences, trade fairs, public shows, product launches, banquets and live entertainment. For more information, see the Brighton Centre's website.
Branches are asked to book all travel arrangements for conference through Stewart Corporate Travel. Travel application forms are attached to the conference bulletin [PDF].
Travel costs for delegates will be funded nationally; travel costs for visitors must be paid for by the branch.
Branches are responsible for funding their delegates’ and visitors’ attendance at conference. Subsistence should cover the cost of accommodation, meals, childcare, dependent care and facilitation.
Branches are encouraged to arrange accommodation through Brighton’s accommodation booking service, VisitBrighton.
Using the booking service supports the work of our members in local government and ensures our continuing ability, as a not-for-profit organisation, to secure preferential rates for our conference venues.
